Two Oregon Ducks make Bruce Feldman’s “Freaks List” and both could earn All Big Ten honors in 2025
Oregon players on both sides of the ball made the Freaks List this year
It’s Christmas morning in August.
One of the best days of the year is when the “Freaks List” is released, as it signals that college football is truly just around the corner. The great Bruce Feldman of The Athletic creates the list, which ranks the top physically gifted athletes in college football. Feldman polls current and former college coaches, NFL scouts, NFL Combine trainers, and agents to get his information–as such it has proved accurate over the years.
The Oregon Ducks have been well represented on the “Freaks List” over the last few years, with players such as Jordan Burch, Devon Jackson, Brandon Dorlus, and Christian Gonzalez all featured. The trend continues with the 2025 list, as a pair of Oregon Ducks crack the top 101 freaks in college football, with defensive tackle A’mauri Washington coming in at fourth overall and tight end Kenyon Sadiq coming in at 11.
A’mauri Washington, Defensive Tackle
A’mauri Washington is a player primed for a breakout season in 2025. He wasn’t a big part of the defensive line rotation last year as he played behind two NFL players in Derrick Harmon and Jamaree Caldwell, but he was impressive in his limited snaps. Washington is a massive defensive tackle with rare movement skills for a player his size. He is listed at 6’3 338 pounds, but he flashes impressive short-area quickness and lateral agility, making him extremely difficult to block upfront. This blend of size and quickness lands him so highly on the “Freaks List”.
In his piece, Feldman writes, “The 6-3, 338-pound Washington is of the caliber of elite D-linemen head coach Dan Lanning saw while in the SEC. His numbers made me do a triple-take when the staff sent them over. To be that massive and clock 20.89 mph and vertical jump 36 inches is mind-blowing. Washington squatted 755 pounds, bench pressed 475 and power cleaned 385.”
With this type of athleticism, size, and power, Washington has an opportunity to be a game wrecker for the Oregon Ducks and could be a big reason the Ducks’ defense continues to be one of the best in the Big Ten.
Kenyon Sadiq, Tight End
Kenyon Sadiq is a player who has NFL scouts salivating and will very likely be a first round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Like Washington, Sadiq played behind a future NFL player in Terrance Ferguson last season, and was therefore not heavily involved in the offense. As the undisputed TE1 now, Sadiq will be unleashed upon opposing defenses and has a very good shot at being the Ducks’ leading pass catcher this season.
“The 6-3 Sadiq came to Oregon two years ago at 220 pounds but is now 255. He’s much leaner this season thanks to healthier eating, which he said has enabled him to go from 12-13 percent body fat to about 10. He vertical jumped 41.5 inches this summer, power cleaned 365 pounds and bench pressed 435,” Feldman wrote.
Sadiq is a mismatch weapon and can win from anywhere in the formation. He has exceptional speed and quickness for a player his size, and is a menace with the ball in his hands. The Ducks’ offense will almost certainly feature Sadiq as the go-to option in the passing game, and he will be a big reason why Oregon’s offense will once again be near the top in college football.
