The Florida Gators are now in a really good position to make a massive run over the next couple of years with DJ Lagway at quarterback.

The Gators won the final four games to finish out the year and Lagway was the catalyst. Despite having a severely injured hamstring, Lagway played tremendous football down the stretch, and grew substantially as a pocket passer because of it.

How will that growth translate to success this season? It's a brutal schedule for the Gators, but there are opportunities to succeed and make the College Football Playoff.

Now that we are less than 100 days from the beginning of the Gators 2025 season, I predicted every game this season.

August 30th: vs. Long Island

Gators win 52-6

This is a tune up game that should be a blowout from the start. This isn't the mid-2010s Gators that would struggle against the likes of Georgia Southern, they will come out guns blazing and take out their only FCS foe.

September 6th: vs. South Florida

Gators win 45-24

South Florida isn't a juggernaut, but they have played the SEC tough in recent years. The Gators' offense should be be ironed out by now, and the defense will be in a good place heading into Death Valley.

September 13th: @ LSU

Gators win 27-21

The Tigers came into The Swamp last year and couldn't do much of anything against the defensive front. This year, the Gators have a better front, and the Tigers are replacing the majority of the offensive line.

September 20th: @ Miami

Gators win 31-23

This is very simple: the Hurricanes embarrassed the Gators last year, and the Gators will take it to them in their house.

October 4th: vs. Texas

Gators lose 28-24

The schedule is tough, but this feels like the first really big test. Texas was 15 yards away from tying the game against Ohio State in the National Semifinal last year, and they are going to be improving at quarterback with Arch Manning. This will be a huge game for the Gators, and expect it to be close.

October 11th: @ Texas A&M

Gators win 34-20

Texas A&M dominated the Gators in The Swamp last year, but the two teams will look significantly different this year, especially with the Aggies' front four. The Gators' experienced offensive line will set the tone and get the win.

October 18th: vs. Mississippi State (Homecoming)

Gators win 48-14

The Bulldogs are one of the worst teams in the SEC, and the Gators should have themselves an explosive homecoming game.

November 1st: vs. Georgia (in Jacksonville)

Gators win 24-20

If Lagway doesn't get hurt against Georgia at the end of the first half last year, the Gators win that game. As things stand, Florida is in a position to be the better team this year, especially with Lagway ready to break out.

November 8th: @ Kentucky

Gators lose 27-21

This is a tough one to justify, but the Gators have a tendency to play poorly against Kentucky. Going to Lexington could be the one game that they lose that doesn't make a lot of sense.

November 15th: @ Ole Miss

Gators win 24-23

Ole Miss lost a lot of talent this past year, and they struggled against the Gators last year. Even though this game will be on the road, Napier's squad is going to be plenty ready to get the win on the road.

November 22nd: vs. Tennessee

Gators win 34-21

The Gators were incredibly close to winning in Knoxville last year once Lagway took over for an injured Graham Mertz, and Tennessee projects to take a step back this year after the departure of Nico Iamaleava, among others.

November 29th: vs. Florida State

Gators win 35-20

Having Florida State the week after Tennessee is frustrating, but they are more talented than the Seminoles and that will come out in a big way.

Record: 10-2

This might be a little optimistic, especially since the sportsbooks have the Gators projected with a 7.5 win total. However, the leap that the Gators made at the end of last season with Lagway under center is likely to take a major step forward.

10 wins is a higher-end outcome, as 8-9 wins is more realistic. Don't be surprised to see the Gators make the College Football Playoff and make waves across the nation.
