Given his reputation around college football, it’s safe to say that LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly isn’t exactly the most well-liked coach in many circles. However, it’s especially safe to say that he is most definitely disliked in College Station by the Texas A&M Aggies, and they proved that in hilarious fashion.

After their blowout victory over the Tigers, A&M quarterback Marcel Reed shared a hilarious story about the petty nature of college football. As his first act as head coach of LSU, Kelly fired Strength & Conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt, who had been an integral part of several of LSU’s elite seasons and national championships. Naturally, A&M scooped Moffitt up under Mike Elko, and the Aggies have started winning.

In the week leading up to their matchup, Moffitt brought in a tackling dummy with Brian Kelly’s face on it. After their 49-25 victory over the Tigers, Kelly is the one left with egg on his face, and Moffitt gets to enjoy what feels like sweet revenge on the man who fired him.

Texas A&M pulls one over on LSU and Brian Kelly

Texas A&M knew the stakes when they entered Death Valley tonight. A win over LSU would likely cement their spot in the College Football Playoff and it would be their first 8-0 start since 1992. Weirdly enough, that 1992 season also featured a road win over LSU as part of those eight wins. Additionally, it would be their first win in Death Valley since 1994.

However, Moffitt’s connection to the LSU program made this game a bit more personal. A&M had a face to their opponent, and I’m sure that helped motivate this team to not be complacent despite their success and to keep their foot on the gas. Safe to say: They did just that.

With LSU floundering at 5-3 behind an unwatchable offense, fans leaving and booing Kelly, and LSU set to tumble out of the rankings, Kelly might be on his way out of Death Valley after this disastrous season. This loss to Texas A&M seems like it all but guarantees Kelly won’t be coaching the Tigers for much longer.

For Moffitt and the Aggies, victory has never been sweeter.
