Texas A&M Aggie standout KC Concepcion delivers powerful statement that extends beyond the gridiron
KC Concepcion stood up for himself, and others, who are affected by speech impediments in a fiery social media post.
Every fan of the Texas A&M Aggies knows about the impact wide receiver KC Concepcion had in College Station. Despite only spending a season with the Aggies, Concepcion became an instant fan favorite with his stellar play, winning the Paul Hornung Award for Most Versatile Player and earning a First-Team All-SEC nod.
Concepcion has parlayed his tremendous 2025 season into an ever-growing NFL Draft profile that has seen him quickly emerge as a consensus first-round selection in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft and has the eyes of the NFL world upon him. At the NFL Scouting Combine, Concepcion used his platform to speak up for himself and several others affected by speech impediments, fighting back against waves of memes and posts making fun of his impediment at the podium during the Combine.
KC Concepcion speaks up for those who may not be able to
“I just wanna say something. If you have a speech impediment, there is nothing wrong with us. I have had this stutter since I can remember talking. This is a part of me. This is who I am. I cannot control this. I wanna be a role model for those who may be scared to speak up, who may be afraid and not confident in yourself. I stand with you. This weekend has taught me a lot about myself and people out here in this world.
I appreciate everyone who supports me and has reached out to me after these interviews. Don’t let a outside person thoughts or opinions get in the way of you being great or of you achieving something in life. I am blessed to be in the position that I am in and I want to help give back to those who are scared to speak up and who aren’t as confident. I stand with you. I will always stand with you. We are different for a reason. God has blessed my life in a way I couldn’t even imagine in this past year. I love y’all and support y’all as we climb this mountain together.”
Concepcion enjoyed a strong week in Indianapolis, with several praising his work in the drills and his work in interviews. Indianapolis Colts wide receivers coach Reggie Wayne took to social media to address Concepcion’s week and took to defending him.
As Concepcion looks to cement himself perhaps in the top half of the first round, he’s not just considering himself, but hundreds of thousands of others who are facing similar or greater battles with their speech.
Using his platform to advocate for and stand up for those who might not be able to themselves is an inspiring achievement that serves as testimony for the type of character Concepcion is. Every NFL team should want a man like that in their building.
