The Texas A&M Aggies are already gearing up to pursue elite transfer portal playmaker Cam Coleman to elevate offense next season
The Texas A&M Aggies will be heavily involved in adding former Auburn WR Cam Coleman out of the transfer portal.
Ever since its inception several seasons ago, the transfer portal has given way to some of the biggest moves in college football history, with superstars moving all across the country every offseason. One of the biggest potential splashes in recent years just entered the portal, and it’s a target that the Texas A&M Aggies will be heavily involved with.
Auburn Tigers wide receiver Cam Coleman entered the transfer portal on Monday morning, and per several sources, the Aggies are expected to show severe interest in adding Coleman to their roster for the 2026 season.
Texas A&M in heavy pursuit of Auburn WR Cam Coleman
Per sources, the Aggies are already in hot pursuit of adding Coleman to the team. Coleman, a player with potential to be a top-five selection in the 2027 NFL Draft, would be an immediate contributor for the Aggies. A&M hasn’t had a player close to his caliber since Mike Evans in the early 2010s. That’s the kind of impact player he can be right away.
The Aggies have already inked wide receiver Mario Craver to the “largest deal in program history“. However, by all reports, Coleman would already be ahead of that price point. A to Z is reporting that the starting point for Coleman is a deal worth roughly $2.5 million, a deal that likely tops what Craver received from the Aggies.
“A to Z Sports reached out to sources in the know surrounding the Cam Coleman’s transfer situation, and this move for the stud wide receiver wasn’t just a surprise to general college football public. The Auburn program apparently didn’t expect this move either. According to verified sources, Coleman’s agent David Mulugheta (of Athletes First) is asking for $2.5 million dollars for the future first-round pick wide receiver’s services (for just one year)”
That’s the price you pay for a player like Coleman, and it’s one that the Aggies should have zero problem coughing up. Texas A&M has a war chest of NIL funding built up specifically to pursue players like Coleman to give them that edge in contention for a national championship. Adding Coleman to the perimeter to replace KC Concepcion and let Mario Craver remain in his slot role would be perfect. If the Aggies want quarterback Marcel Reed to take that next step as well, adding as much talent as they can around him will be necessary.
It’s still very early in his process, but I have heard from multiple sources that the Aggies will be heavy hitters in Coleman’s decision. Don’t forget that, at one point, Coleman was committed to Texas A&M for months, and that was before Mike Elko was hired and the Aggies started winning consistently. They are still ready to offer the resources they had then and now have a winning pedigree to put behind it.
Additionally, Texas A&M offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins is heavily connected to Coleman and has a prior relationship with him. Wiggins was his primary recruiter when he was with the Alabama Crimson Tide during Coleman’s recruitment.
All of the heavy hitters across the country will be involved, but I like where the Aggies stand here.
