The Texas A&M football season didn’t end like head coach Mike Elko or Aggies fans wanted it to, but the entire organization is doing everything they can to maintain program momentum.

The transfer portal just opened up on Friday, Jan. 2, and Texas A&M is already going after several of the top prizes. Two of the most important transfer targets out there and available are wide receivers Cam Coleman of Auburn and Eugene Wilson of Florida. Both are visiting with the Aggies this week.

Eugene “Tre” Wilson would fit perfectly as KC Concepcion replacement

First off, if anyone is unfamiliar with Eugene Wilson, it’s solely because of his injuries. When fully healthy, Wilson has been one of the best wide receivers in football, but he’s simply been hurt too much. His true freshman season with Florida was impressive — he essentially became the team’s WR1 by year’s end, splitting targets with future first round NFL Draft pick Ricky Pearsall. Unfortunately, after racking up a quick 191 yards in two games to open 2024, his season was derailed by multiple injuries. 2025 was more of the same, but he did finally put up a phenomenal nine-catch, 121-yard game against Georgia in November. He’s visiting this weekend with Texas A&M.

Wilson would be the perfect KC Concepcion replacement as someone who can win with shifty agility in the slot, while also playing with necessary strength and physicality on the perimeter. Wilson and Concepcion have similar builds, speed, and ability to bring in tough catches in tight space. Coach Elko and staff will certainly be pitching the Concepcion role to Wilson on his visit.

Cam Coleman would bring critical skill set Texas A&M is missing

Cam Coleman doesn’t look like anything that Texas A&M currently has now or even ever had on their 2025 roster. Mario Craver and KC Concepcion were smaller, shifty speedsters (as were most every wide receiver on the 2025 team). Cam Coleman could offer a critical skill set at 6-3, 200+ pounds as the ideal perimeter wide receiver that Texas A&M is missing. He’s currently visiting with Texas, but is set to visit Texas A&M on Sunday, Jan. 4.

How good is Cam Coleman? His agent David Mulugheta (who represents over 50 NFL players) was asking for $2.5 million from the Auburn Tigers this past week. According to multiple sources, he may end up asking for around $4 million because the bidding war has already skyrocketed his price point. Coleman somehow managed to rack up over 700 yards and five touchdowns this past season despite playing with a ridiculous mess of three quarterbacks in Auburn’s utterly dysfunctional offense as a true sophomore. He hauled in a whopping 12 contested catches, and racked up over 30 first downs for the Tigers this past year.

Texas A&M has been pushing for Coleman hard since the news broke that he would be entering the transfer portal. The price is going to be high, but landing him could completely revamp an already solid Aggies offense. If Elko and his staff can’t secure Coleman, worse case, they need to make sure that Wilson lands with them as the KC Concepcion replacement.
