Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown staying positive despite serious knee injury that could wreck his season
Overshown’s response: ‘Wouldn’t want this for anyone else! One of God’s Toughest Soldiers’
Not again, Agent Zero.
Cowboys fans held their breath Monday night when Texas ex DeMarvion Overshown went down with another apparent knee injury against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Overshown’s knee appeared to buckle in a pile-up, and the former Texas Longhorns star stayed on the ground. He had to be helped off the field, and coach Mike McCarthy said it appeared to be a serious injury.
“It’s of a serious nature from what I’m told,” McCarthy said after the game. “That’s all I know.”

For his part, Overshown was already showing a positive attitude.
“Wouldn’t want this for anyone else! One of God’s Toughest Soldiers,” Overshown tweeted after the game with a prayer hands emoji. “Keep me in your prayers…”
Overshown missed his entire rookie season with a torn ACL. This year, he was back to his incredible self, making sensational plays and blossoming into a disruptive force for the Cowboys.
“I woke up and the first thing I thought about was hoping Demarvion Overshown doesn’t become one of the greatest ‘what if’ stories of all time,” @AttackOnCowboys tweeted Tuesday morning.
Overshown responded, “Guarantee I won’t.”
The second-year linebacker is currently second on the team in tackles. But it appears he could be sidelined down the regular season home stretch, if not outright sidelined for the rest of the season.
“That’s the hardest part, especially for teammates,” McCarthy said. “I think the whole sideline felt that. It didn’t look good and obviously being part of the evaluation so, it’s of a serious nature, it definitely hit a lot of the guys.”
