The Texas Longhorns 2025 pro day has come and gone and the results were impressive. 21 different former burnt orange stars took to the field to prove their skills and plenty performed well, but four studs from Steve Sarkisian's explosive offense stole the show, potentially boosting their NFL Draft stocks.
Quinn Ewers' efficient pro day throwing session
The tantalizing talent of Quinn Ewers when he was just coming into college as the number one overall recruit in the 2021 class set expectations far too high. So much so that even when he posts an absurdly efficient pro day even four years later there's always some sort of asterisk on the performance.
Tommy Yarrish charted all of Ewers pass attempts from his pro day, and couldn't help but make sure people knew that the former Longhorns QB threw a few bad passes at the end, despite connecting on 50 of 59 passes with four drops. Still, most who were present were blown away by Ewers' easy arm talent now that he's further removed from all his in-season injuries.
It's likely Ewers helped his draft stock yet again, following an already eye-popping showing at the NFL Combine just one month ago. The evidence supporting the fact that Ewers was constantly playing through injury last fall continues to mount. If he was indeed limited, yet still carried Texas to the doorstep of the national championship, NFL teams may take note and select him a bit earlier than many experts project.
Elite Texas Longhorns Wide Receiver Pro Day
The two obvious star wide receivers likely garnered more interest from NFL scouts–as they should–but Silas Bolden had an incredible pro day, likely earning himself some money in the NFL on Tuesday. He was making phenomenal catches all day, including the wild diving snag you can see in the post below.
Not only did Bolden make some silly catches. He also lit it up in the athletic testing, posting a forty-yard dash time somewhere between 4.38 and 4.41 seconds. Bolden still likely doesn't hear his name called very early in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he should certainly be selected on day three after this kind of showing.
Bolden's last name rhyming partner and teammate Matthew Golden clearly wanted to show off his 4.29-second forty-yard dash speed as he was burning up the field on deep routes throughout the Texas pro day. Many scouts and analysts noted that Golden doesn't look like he plays at 4.29-speed, but he made a point to prove those doubters wrong (as you can see in the post below). Golden continues to rise up draft boards throughout this 2025 NFL Draft season.
And lastly, Isaiah Bond needed to post a good pro day after struggling for much of last year with injuries. Bond had already run a rather good time for the forty-yard dash at the NFL Combine, but blew people away with a 4.34 in the forty and a decent vertical jump at 34 inches as well.
Bond was long considered a potential first round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but had dropped as far as round three in large sample mock draft data here recently. His strong pro day may have his projected draft stock bouncing back now.
