Former Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who is anticipated to be a second-day selection in this month’s NFL Draft, turned himself in on Thursday due to a sexual assault warrant and was released after posting bail, as reported by several sources.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Bond surrendered on Thursday morning regarding the outstanding warrant, as confirmed by Grant Cottingham, a police spokesperson in Frisco, a suburb of Dallas.
He has since posted bail set at $25,000 and has been released from Collin County jail, according to jail records. Specific details related to the allegations have not been disclosed.
In response, Bond issued a statement on social media claiming that the accusations are "patently false."
“Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false. I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation. Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review. I kindly request that all reserve judgment until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence," Bond said.
Bond played one season with the Longhorns in 2024, where he recorded 34 receptions for 540 yards and five touchdowns before declaring for the NFL draft after the season. Prior to this, he spent his first two years of college football at Alabama.
He was projected to be a first-round pick after landing at Texas, but his character concerns, lack of blocking effort, and disappointing production have led him to drop significantly. His blazing 4.35 40-yard dash gives him value despite the poor play, but will only carry him so far with red flags galore.
