For Texas fans who like to read the tea leaves, injured receiver Isaiah Bond was dressed and participated in practice Friday as the Longhorns start full preparations for the Peach Bowl.

Bond got his leg rolled up late in the SEC championship game against Georgia and missed the Clemson game with an ankle injury in the first round of the College Football Playoffs.

The receiver that coach Steve Sarkisian said has “elite” speed would make a tremendous weapon for the Horns in the CFP. Texas faces Arizona State in the quarterfinal round on New Year’s Day in Atlanta.

Before the Christmas break, Sarkisian was optimistic about Bond’s status.

“I think Isaiah continues to make really good progress for us,” Sarkisian said. “Obviously we're quite a ways out, so my goal is coming out of Christmas here that that progress continues in a positive direction and we can see where it goes from there.”

Also Friday, right tackle Cam Williams was limited in practice. Williams suffered an injury on a busted screen pass to Quintrevion Wisner against the Tigers.

Speaking of Wisner, both he and center Jake Majors were back at practice on Friday. Sarkisian said both players could have re-entered the game against Clemson but were held out as a precaution.
