Texas C Jake Majors describes a glorious Saturday watching college football games from his recliner
Majors and his buddies reveled in the glory of YouTube TV multi-view and ate pizza
College football fans can relax every Saturday and watch gobs of games on multiple channels. Multi-view is manna from heaven.
With the Longhorns idle last weekend, Texas senior Jake Majors wasn’t going to waste his one golden opportunity to participate in a full day of TV watching on Saturday.
“Guys were able to get healthy during the bye week, you know, remove themselves from football. You know, be normal. Be a normal person on Saturday. Watch college football all days,” Majors said. “I enjoyed that. I think I didn’t move from my recliner the whole day. So I just it was awesome to just decompress.”
Majors chooses his words carefully with reporters, keeping up a time-honored tradition of UT linemen who hide their big personalities and reveal almost nothing. But get Majors talking about last Saturday, and it’s rather glorious.

This Texas Longhorns graduate played a huge role in Florida’s iconic sports drink Gatorade
The University of Texas hasn’t played the University of Florida since 1940. All these years, Longhorns fans have been denied a chance to remind the Gators of one fun historical fact. Dr. J. Robert Cade, the inventor of Florida’s hydration breakthrough Gatorade, was a Longhorn himself. Cade was a scientist, physician and inventor who was […]
Asked to describe his recliner, Majors starts, “It’s a quality college recliner. Used. It’s a dark tan, dark brown color. Got a nice recline lever, goes all the way flat. Pulled a chair next to it. Had my Propels and all that stuff next to me. Had a little food in it. Had to clean up after that. But dude, it was a quality Saturday. I made sure of that.”
Majors and his buddies started with ESPN’s “College GameDay” from Penn State and just kept it going all day long.
“I’m in the living room. We’ve got two recliners. I chose the right one. I’m in the recliner, the couch is behind me. I’m against the wall in the recliner,” Majors said. “I’ve got two TVs set up. One had YouTube TV, four game multi-view. The other one just had one game. So I was able to watch five games at once. Talk about college football. Went and picked up food — I think it might have been Home Slice. Yeah, just laid in the recliner all day.”
Home Slice Pizza can direct all NIL inquiries to Majors or the Texas offensive linemen, by the way.

Told that another reporter had more questions about his Saturday, Majors said, “I love these questions.”
Over at linebacker David Gbenda’s house, Gbenda thought, “Man, it’s kind of weird. It’s really weird. That's my first initial thought, honestly, when I was watching the games.”
Gbenda figures the Longhorns are normally playing on Saturdays. Now, he’s watching and yelling at the TV just like the rest of us. “Usually I just sort of sit back watch,” Gbenda said. “I’m like, oh, wow, that was really good. We should probably use that. Or, oh, we shouldn’t do that. I’ll make sure not to let that happen again.”
Asked to describe his main takeaway from a full day of TV watching, Majors said, “I think it's amazing. I think the landscape of college football, there’s nothing compared to it. You get to watch games from 11 a.m. to almost damn near midnight. I love it. I love college football. I’m blessed to be a part of college football.
“It’s such a true honor to play at a university like Texas, like I mean, I can't describe it, but it was an amazing time to just decompress and just watch TV all day.”
