Texas took the top spot followed by Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and Georgia in the reshuffled lineup after a wild Saturday that saw multiple high-ranked teams fall off the high wire.
UT coach Steve Sarkisian is adamant the polls are meaningless this time of season, and he’s right. Go ahead and throw out the records, rankings and just about everything else when the Longhorns and Sooners clash at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

LSU magically appeared at No. 13 after beating South Alabama on Saturday to improve to 4-1. Texas A&M also saw a huge jump to No. 15 after its 41-10 beatdown over then-No. 9 Missouri. The Tigers fell all the way to 21st.
