The Texas Longhorns are one of numerous programs pursuing 2026 four-star cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick, 6-foot-1/185 lbs from Fort Lauderdale, FL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 5 cornerback in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state of Florida. He's also rated as the No. 51 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
The coveted recruit is set to take an unofficial visit to Texas on April 22. Fitzpatrick will then take an official visit to Austin on June 13.
Fitzpatrick told On3 this week that one of the reasons he's interested in Texas is because of the connection between his brother, five-time NFL Pro Bowl defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick and Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Minkah and Sarkisian were at Alabama together in 2016.
Fitzpatrick mentioned to On3 that his brother will play a key role in his eventual commitment decision.
"My brother will be a big part of it," said Fitzpatrick. "Once I get down to two or three schools, he wants to go to school himself and get a feel for it."
Fitzpatrick, who also has official visits scheduled to Georgia and Miami, is hoping to commit before the first game of his senior season later this fall.
It sounds like Minkah could be joining the four-star cornerback on his official visit to Texas later this summer. If that's the case, it will be a critical weekend for the Longhorns. If Texas knocks that official visit out of the park, it could lead to Minkah signing off on Austin as the best choice for his younger brother. And that might be all Sarkisian and the Longhorns need to win this recruiting battle.
