Texas' announcement confirms excitement and high expectations as Longhorns join SEC this college football season
The 2024 season is the third straight year the Longhorns will break their own ticket sales records
It just means more in the SEC, and for Texas, it now officially means more season ticket sales.
The UT athletic department announced Tuesday the Longhorns have sold out their entire allotment of season and individual game tickets for the entire 2024 season, the school’s first in the SEC.
This marks the third straight year and fourth time in the last five seasons that UT has broken its own ticket sales record.
The school is still holding back an allotment of season tickets for UT students in their designated section and selling those now. School officials also have sections designated for the opposing team and the Longhorn band.

Base season ticket prices ranged from $385 up to $735 depending on where fans want to sit. But most seats also require a donation to the Longhorn Foundation, anywhere from $150 up to $5,000 per seat. There were seats available at the top of the north end zone deck that were $385 each with no donation requirement.
If someone walked in off the street and wanted four tickets near the 50-yard line (Sections 4 or 5), that person could be looking at a cash outlay of a maximum $16,560 for the season. That total could be different based on how high or low a fan wanted to sit as prices fluctuate with row location.
Parking is extra, of course.
In short, expect more than 100,000 fans to pack Royal-Memorial Stadium for all seven home games this fall. The season opener against Colorado State will be packed. But fans are really gearing up for home games against Georgia (Oct. 19) and Florida (Nov. 9).
“We can’t wait to begin the upcoming season,” Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte said in a statement. “We thank Longhorn Nation for their never-ending support of the burnt orange and white and look forward to welcoming everyone back to DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium.”
