Texas wide receiver Parker Livingstone redshirted last year after suffering a foot injury his senior year of high school. Now, through two games in 2025 in his first real action as a Longhorn, he has six receptions for 175 yards and three touchdowns.

“I’ve been saying it all along. I just don’t know if you guys believe me,” Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said when asked about Livingstone. “I’ve been saying it since spring ball – Parker Livingstone is a really good player. He played good all spring. He played good all training camp. He’s played good for two weeks. Like the guy is a good football player.”

He has stepped up in a big way for first-year starting quarterback Arch Manning. Livingstone was a difference maker last week against Ohio State and now he’s had another breakout performance at home versus San Jose State.

It took a while for it to happen but Parker Livingstone has arrived.

Sure, he played 28 snaps a year ago but he never recorded a catch. And after missing out most of his senior year due to injury, he was struggling.

“That sucked,” Livingstone said. “Senior year [at Lovejoy] was rough when I had that foot injury, and I was out for a while. And, last year, it wasn’t fun not playing. But I learned a lot from the players who were here like [Matthew] Golden, [Isaiah] Bond and [Silas] Bolden – a lot of teammates – and so I really think it helped me out.”

But, he has bought in to what the coaches want him to do and has carved out a role quickly. Especially with the added attention for both DeAndre Moore and Ryan Wingo, Livingstone is going to be counted on more and more as the season progresses.

“I just came in and worked, kind of worked under the radar,” Livingstone said. “I wasn’t the highest recruit. A lot of people doubted me. And so I’m just happy to be here.

“My saying is, doubt me now. Listen to a song by Cody Johnson. There’s been a lot of doubters along the way. I’m not trying to prove them wrong. I’m just trying to prove myself that can be the best receiver in the country.”

Arch Manning can sense the connection growing, too.

“Parker’s a really good player,” Manning said. “He’s been a touchdown machine lately. Feel like we have a good connection. It’s only going to grow.”

Texas tight end Jack Endries – who caught two TD passes of 36 and 16 yards Saturday – said Manning and Livingstone being roommates is a big reason why the two have a seamless connection in just two games together.

“His [Livingstone’s] connection with Arch, they’re roommates, and I think that goes a long, long way,” Endries said. “That’s really underrated in football. You’ll see all the best players are close with their quarterbacks or whatever. A lot of people don’t think about that, but it’s real, and it’s huge. And a kid who works that hard and puts himself in the right spots, he’s gonna get the ball, and Arch is looking his way.”
