Steve Sarkisian and his staff extended an offer to Ridgeline (Utah) EDGE Krew Jones Monday. The 2027 prospect has been stockpiling top Power 4 offers since exploding on the scene as a sophomore.

The 6-foot-5, 233 pound recruit is ranked as the No. 138 overall prospect in the 2027 class, per 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is the 18th-ranked EDGE recruit in the class and Utah’s top-ranked prospect.

As a sophomore, Jones had a banner year – finishing with 93 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, six forced fumbles, and six passes defended. On offense, he added 12 catches for 206 yards and three touchdowns.

One recent offer made Krew Jones very happy.

“I feel so blessed,” Jones told 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman. “I’ve been talking to coach Espo (Lou Esposito) for a bit but never wanted to expect it,” said Jones. “The offer is big. Michigan is another program with tradition and proven success.”

Jones is planning on being at Oregon when it hosts Oregon State, Southern Cal when it welcomes Michigan to town October 11, BYU October 18 when it welcomes Utah for the Holy War, Ohio State November 1 when it plays Penn State, Oregon again November 22 when it hosts Southern Cal, Texas November 28 when it plays Texas A&M, and Oklahoma November 29 when it hosts LSU.

Jones has been selected to play in both the 2026 Under Armour All-America Game and the 2026 Polynesian Bowl.

247Sports’ national recruiting analyst gives his Krew Jones scouting report.

“Highly productive edge rusher and will be a four-year starter at Ridgeline. Has prototype size and athleticism for an edge rusher. Quick off the ball with a good first step, can dip and bend to get around the edge and shows off a really good spin move as well. Very physical player in everything he does, playing the run, taking on blocks and rushing the passer. Plays with heavy hands and knows how to use them. Has an advanced skill set with multiple moves and counters to go with a high motor. Tough kid as well and plays with an edge. High major Power 4 prospect, good enough to play for any school in the country.” – 247Sports’ national recruiting analyst, Greg Biggins
