The Texas Longhorns have added 19 transfers to their roster this offseason.

And they may not be done.

The transfer portal closed in January, but players that are still in the portal looking for new homes can transfer at any time (though class schedules can impact when a player can officially enroll).

Nearly all of the top transfer players have already found new homes. There’s one intriguing transfer player, however, that’s still available.

Texas has reportedly shown interest in transfer EDGE

Baylor transfer EDGE Kamauryn Morgan is the best player still available in the portal.

Morgan, a former four-star recruit from Dallas, TX, played in 10 games as true freshman this past season at Baylor (125 snaps). He totaled just six tackles last season, but he’s a high-upside player who is cleared to transfer now that he’s been deemed academically eligible.

“Kamauryn Morgan said he is now academically eligible after Baylor approved his appeal on an exam grade that he received during the fall semester,” wrote 247Sports’ Chris Hummer this week.

Morgan originally signed with Virginia Tech as a transfer addition, but the eligibility issue essentially reset his transfer process.

According to 247Sports, Texas is one of the programs that has reached out to him since being cleared.

Indiana, Michigan State, and Mississippi State have also reached out to Morgan.

“I want to make the best choice, obviously, and want to be in school right away after all this turmoil,” said Morgan to 247Sports.

Staying in the Lone Star State makes a lot of sense for Morgan. If Texas goes all-in on landing the talented EDGE, it’s hard to see another program beating them out.

Morgan, by the way, was offered by Texas as a high school recruit in 2023.
