Max Poff of MaxPreps released his 2025 Preseason MaxPreps All-America Football Team Monday. And the Texas Longhorns are everywhere on it. Six commits found themselves selected by Poff to be featured on one of the most prestigious preseason teams in high school sports.

Five-star quarterback Dia Bell and five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, and four-star athlete Jermaine Bishop landed on both the first-team offense and first-team defense respectively. Elsewhere, four-star running back Derrek Cooper, four-star interior offensive lineman John Turntine III, and four-star EDGE Richard Wesley were all named to the second-team.

Of the 58 selections, 21 states were represented and Mater Dei (Calif.) finished with the most selections (four).

Dia Bell got things going in 2025 Friday.

Bell finished just 8-for-10 for 100+ yards in a 23-14 win over McArthur (Fla.), but he had some highlight reel throws. American Heritage is ranked 8th in the country after finishing 12-2 in 2024. Despite Bell’s injury, the Patriots made a run all the way to the title game and took home for the 4A state championship.

Cooper wasted little time showing why he’s one of the top prospects in the 2026 class last weekend. Despite not having the eye-popping stats in the box score, he flashed in a few big-time runs versus West Boca Raton.

Cooper, ranked as the No. 2 overall running back prospect in the country, looked more like the top-ranked recruit at his position Friday. He flashed toughness between the tackles, natural elusiveness, short space quickness, and home run speed at 210 pounds.

Jermaine Bishop makes the team at the all-purpose position.

Last season, Bishop did it all at Willis (Tex.) – hauling in 83 passes for 1,565 yards and 18 touchdowns on 18.9 yards per reception. He also ran the ball six times for 45 yards and another score. On defense, he recorded 26 tackles, six pass breakups, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and even added a kick return touchdown.

It’s very exciting to think about the possibilities for him once he gets to campus. Head coach Steve Sarkisian could use him in a variety of ways. And 247Sports’ Gabe Brooks agrees.

“Legitimate candidate to play two-way snaps at the P4 level. High school profile similar to players such as Kamari Lassiter, Ladd McConkey, Jordan Addison, perhaps even Travis Hunter in recent years,” Brooks said. “Projects as a high-major impact player who could become an early-round draft candidate.”
