The Texas Longhorns are well-positioned to keep 5-star tackle prospect Felix Ojo within the state as the 2026 recruiting class fills out, but timing is everything. The race for the nation's third-ranked offensive tackle is as contested as you could imagine. Ojo will be visiting Ole Miss, Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas this summer.

However, Texas' official visit date didn't work out to its best advantage. While camp dates and official visit trips are planned ahead of time and impossible to make perfect, Texas surely would've liked to have had Ojo on campus last before the 2025 season begins.

Instead, Oklahoma will get the last summer visit from Ojo. Texas will be hosting Ojo and many others from June 13 through the 15. The Mansfield, Texas, native will have a busy time traveling in the offseason.

On3 has Texas as 83.5% likely to land Ojo. Oklahoma is second, followed by the rest. Considering the 6-foot-7, 274-pounder's proximity to home to Texas, the program's deep NIL pockets, and their pipeline of offensive linemen to the NFL, Steve Sarkisian should be feeling good about this race.

That said, everything can change quickly. Ohio State and Michigan have two of the best NIL programs in the country, plus have great reputations for developing NFL players. Oklahoma is one of the few programs that can match Texas' offensive line pipeline and tradition.

Can Sarkisian and Texas close the deal? We'll continue to update you on Ojo and the rest of the 2026 recruiting class.
