Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns have been filling out their 2026 recruiting class well this spring and summer. There's still plenty of work to be done, but Texas is certainly trending towards another strong recruiting class.

Here recently most all of the successes for Texas recruiting have come on special teams and the defensive side of the ball, but based on how one key visit went this past week it seems the Longhorns could get back to building their offense again too.

Malakai Lee, Four Star OT Recruit

Malakai Lee, an extremely talented four star offensive tackle from Hawaii, has been making the rounds here recently with all of his finalist schools. He visited with Georgia multiple times this spring. USC shortly after that. Then he headed to Alabama just before seeing Texas this past week. Predicting where Lee will land is growing increasingly difficult.

However, one comment from him on his visit with Texas should have Longhorns fans feeling more confident in their chances when Lee said, "They will be National Champions very soon."

That kind of confidence from a recruit in Steve Sarkisian and what Texas is building is great to see. For those who have followed Lee's recruitment closely, he hasn't held back positive words when schools show love his way, but he's also clearly a well-media-trained player. He doesn't waste words.

Lee still has his visit with Michigan before he ultimately makes a decision here soon, but Texas is in pretty good shape with this Top 100 overall prospect. Given the constant effort from Sarkisian and company, recent positive point(s) of contact, and Texas' newfound track record of sending offensive line talents to the NFL–Kelvin Banks, Cameron Williams, Hayden Conner, Christian Jones in the last two years alone–Lee could certainly land with the Longhorns. Let's hope Sarkisian closes the deal soon.
