Dakorien Moore continued his high profile month of official visits with the Texas Longhorns this weekend and his recruitment is about to come to a close. He's already visited with Ohio State, LSU, and now Texas in the last three weeks. The final step in his recruitment is now to see Oregon next weekend. So where is the top overall wide receiver leaning? And what should we expect from him wherever he goes?
Dakorien Moore Visit with Texas
Dakorien Moore just shared his photo shoot with Texas over the weekend as well as some one handed grabs in a behind-the-scenes video while on campus. Moore has been high on the Longhorns throughout his recruitment, and was quoted as saying they were still in his "top three" just a few short weeks ago.
During the week of On3 Sports' Elite Series event Moore and fellow five star wide receivers Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench all received multiple predictions from recruiting services to land with Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns. All of them mentioned talking through potentially playing together. However, since then Moore (and the other WRs) have been rather quietly going about their business on other visits.

Dakorien Moore final visit to Oregon
Now the only thing that stands between Moore and his final decision is an official visit with the Oregon Ducks and Dan Lanning. He'll see them for the second time in just about a month, and the third time this spring. LSU was the long-time favorite, and where Moore was committed until recently. Texas has logged the most official touch points with him. And Ohio State has been surging this spring too. But Oregon gets the final word.
Where will Dakorien Moore Commit?
While Moore did say that LSU was back in it after his official visit this month, it would be rather odd for him go back with the Tigers, especially given Brian Kelly's recent comments about NIL (and how the program won't 'buy' players). Ryan Day's Ohio State is absolutely stacked at wide receiver, and has been pushing hard for other positions more than wide receiver this offseason. Both schools are still technically in it, but are perhaps in tier two right now.
All the latest noise still suggests that Texas is in the lead as we head down the stretch, but Oregon's offense, Dan Lanning's charismatic leadership, and the recent surge of visits suggest they might be a close second to land Moore.
Regardless of where Moore lands he has been considered the number one overall wide receiver in the 2025 class for multiple years now. He's logged on-field speed above 22 miles per hour. Moore checks all the elite production boxes you want to see and is highly intelligent. He's going to star immediately for some lucky college football program.
