Someone must’ve made new rule. At the end of rivalry games nowadays, you get into a fight.
Practically every major rivalry game ended with an attempted flag-planting on the 50-yard line followed by pushing, shoving and, at least in the Michigan-Ohio State game, pepper spray.
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian wasn’t going to let that happen to the Longhorns on Saturday night at Kyle Field.

Sarkisian was hugging everyone in sight in the end zone with other UT players, team personnel and administrators. Then, he noticed a mass of burnt orange gathering out on the field.
CBS Austin sports anchor Bob Ballou captured video of Sarkisian literally hugging UT System Chairman of the Board of Regents Kevin Eltife and then frantically taking off toward the 50-yard line.
ABC had started its post-game show but quickly flipped back to what was happening on the Texas A&M midfield logo.
Sarkisian was seen waiving players off the logo and pointing them toward the locker room.
A&M players had either exited the field by this point or were not interested. Frankly, there weren’t many Aggies around by this point of the Longhorns’ celebration. The stadium had quickly emptied out, too.
The Texas-Texas A&M rivalry is already a powder keg as it is. Sarkisian wasn’t going to allow a post-game kerfuffle spoil UT’s 17-7 victory.
In his post-game press conference, Sarkisian said, "I just watched Ohio State and Michigan getting a full-fledged brawl in my hotel room today, and I just didn't think it was right."
