Horns Down has been a thing for decades for Oklahoma fans. But with Texas winning the Big 12 title last season and joining the SEC, Horns Down has become more prominent among various fan bases — whether they’re playing Texas or not.

Arkansas fans got their chance to throw the Horns Down over the weekend, and the Texas cheer squad came up with a new way to critique fans’ form.

In a truly creative piece of social media content, a Texas cheerleader scans the Arkansas crowd offering up scores on how well Arkansas fans are throwing the Horns Down. It’s genius, frankly.

“We’re rating Horns Down at Arkansas,” she says into the camera.

Seeing one fan, “His fingers aren’t even curled right.” That gets a 0 out of 10.

“The thumbs down, that’s not us. That’s A&M. Wrong game. Come on.”

She points out another fan, “That’s not terrible. Eight out of 10. Solid.”

The camera continues to find other Arkansas fans, and the Texas cheerleader just lets them have it.

“We’ve seen worse,” she says at one fan.

“You’re pointing at me at this point. That’s a four out of 10.”

“No, it has to be down. That’s not correct, either.”

Texas’ social media team has struck gold with this feature. The upcoming road game at Texas A&M on Nov. 30 is another chance to have some fun with opposing fans.
