While LSU is distracted by Lane Kiffin, the Texas Longhorns are trying to steal one of the Tigers’ top commits
The LSU Tigers may want to pay attention to the Texas Longhorns right now.
The LSU Tigers’ main focus right now is on swiping Lane Kiffin from the Ole Miss Rebels.
Meanwhile, with LSU focused on Kiffin, the Texas Longhorns are looking to steal one of the Tigers’ top 2026 commits.
5-star LSU commit will reportedly visit Texas this weekend
According to On3’s Sam Spiegelman, 2026 five-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson will visit Texas this weekend for the Longhorns’ game against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Anderson has been committed to LSU for nearly 18 months.
This will be Anderson’s first visit to Texas (Spiegelman noted that a couple of his high school teammates who are also committed to LSU — four-star safety Aiden Hall and four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez — will join Anderson this weekend at Texas).
Anderson, 6-foot-3/340 lbs from New Orleans, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Louisiana. He’s also rated as the No. 12 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
This is certainly a player that LSU doesn’t want to lose, but it could be tough to keep Anderson committed with the Tigers still in search of their next head coach.
