The shift across college football's landscape began as soon as NIL became a reality, but time has given programs the ability to sharpen their pitches and refine their offers for recruits. The best prospects in the 2025 recruiting cycle look to be in the best position yet as they search for new homes. One of the biggest early storylines to watch is where 5-star receivers Dakorien Moore, Jaime Ffrench, and Kaliq Lockett will land.

Dakorien Moore, Jaime Ffrench, and Kaliq Lockett Recruiting Rumors

The recruiting hot stove turned all the way up to 10 on Tuesday when Moore stoked the flames at the On3 Elite event in Nashville, Tennessee. The former LSU commit told Josh Newberg of On3 that he, Ffrench, and Lockett each have Texas, LSU, and Ohio State in their top three rankings. To go even further, they've talked about joining forces as a package trio.

Ffrench actually listed Miami as his third school of choice earlier in the day, and it seems as though Ohio State started to cool off in pursuit as the NIL bidding increased. This is also a factor in why Lockett has earned crystal ball rankings for Texas, as it's known in recruiting circles he desires a Lamborghini. The Longhorns collective has worked with Lamborghini Austin to broker luxury cars for players.

If this is blowing your mind a bit, just know this has always taken place in college football. It's just now in the open, and it's great to see student-athletes maximizing this once-in-a-lifetime leverage.

The Buckeyes lead all programs with three 5-star commitments for 2025. LSU is fifth overall in recruiting points, while Texas is only 16th. Landing even two of this three-prong set of playmakers can quickly turn the tide, though.

Ohio State has only one receiver committed in 2025 4-star De'zie Jones, but are always in the mix to land a star at the position. Quite frankly, they don't need to walk out of the 2025 class with significant help because of the work Brian Hartline has done in recent years.

LSU has beefed up its offense with No. 1 overall recruit and QB Bryce Underwood, two 4-star running backs, and 4-star receiver TaRon Francis. But they could use more, and it'd be a powerful statement to swing Moore, Ffrench, or Lockett away from a deeper-pocketed program.

But it's still Texas' game to lose. Not only does Texas have the money and positional need, but they just produced two high draft picks in Xavier Worthy and AD Mitchell. They also have Arch Manning to sell to recruits wanting to make an impact and get media attention.

It seems a bit ffar-fetched (get it?) that one program would get all three 5-star receivers, but there's certainly been crazier things to happen. Drop those predictions in the comments.
