The transfer portal has only been open officially since Friday, and yet, we have already seen a good bit of chaos so far. That includes the quarterback position, which isn’t much of a surprise. It is the most important position in all of sports, and teams around college football are desperate at times to find their star signal caller.

While the party has just begun, we have already seen a ton of quarterback movement, including former Cincinnati star Brendan Sorsby landing with Texas Tech. After some recent buzz with LSU, the Red Raiders closed the deal with Sorsby, and it cost them a pretty penny. Josh Hoover (TCU) also opted for Indiana this week, which was one of the easier landing spots to predict. As was Drew Mestemaker (North Texas)ending up with Oklahoma State. Rocco Becht (Iowa State) to Penn State was another easy one.

There have been, however, a couple of commitments that did seem to come out of left field. With so many still searching for homes, things aren’t slowing down anytime soon. If three days brought that much chaos, just imagine what this week is going to look like.

Quarterback commitments

Here are some of the top transfer portal quarterbacks who have made commitments so far.

Brendan Sorsby (Cincinnati) – Texas Tech

Drew Mestemaker (North Texas) – Oklahoma State

Rocco Becht (Iowa State) – Penn State

Josh Hoover (TCU) – Indiana

Kenny Minchey (Notre Dame) – Nebraska

Aaron Philo (Georgia Tech) – Florida

Lincoln Kienholz (Ohio State) – Louisville

Cutter Boley (Kentucky) – Arizona State

Katin Houser (ECU) – Illinois

Colton Joseph (Old Dominion) – Wisconsin

Remaining predictions

It feels like only a matter of time until former Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt heads over to join LSU and head coach Lane Kiffin. His flirtation with Will Strein and the Kentucky Wildcats was to create a backup plan, but now that Sorsby landed with Texas Tech, everyone knows where things are heading. That is the most no-brainer fit remaining on the list.

Aside from Leavitt to Baton Rouge, Byrum Brown (USF) eventually ending up with Auburn, and Beau Pribula (Missouri) reuniting with James Franklin to be the quarterback of the Virginia Tech Hokies, there are still some major question marks remaining. Here are some of my remaining predictions for where the top quarterbacks land. This is going to be a very busy couple of weeks.

Sam Leavitt (Arizona State) – LSU

DJ Lagway (Florida) – Florida State

Dylan Raiola (Nebraska) – Oregon

Deuce Knight (Auburn) – Ole Miss

Byrum Brown (South Florida) – Auburn

Austin Simmons (Ole Miss) – Missouri

Aidan Chiles (Michigan State) – Clemson

Beau Pribula (Missouri) – Virginia Tech

Anthony Colandrea (UNLV) – Tennessee

Noah Fifita (Arizona) – Miami
