Week nine of college football is behind us, which means we are once again left to navigate the landscape, and make sense of the program hierarchy. That includes on the FCS level, where we saw some big victories, a couple of upsets, and continuing separation for the elite programs.

That led to some changes with my latest Stats Perform FCS ballot, although not at a high volume. Generally speaking, we have a very good idea who the top teams are in the country right now. The major question is going to be just about where everyone is going to fit when these rankings matter most.

The big conversation is going to continue to center around the top team, and I get it. I had North Dakota State ranked as the top team pretty early in the season, but made the change to Montana State a few weeks ago. I stayed firm with it even after the Bison were able to defeat South Dakota State a couple of weeks ago.

That was the best victory against an FCS opponent so far, but I don’t think we can discount what the Bobcats have done so far. I believe that both schools are deserving of that top spot, and I have no issue with anyone that opts for North Dakota State. For me, Montana State getting a FBS victory, and dominating their FCS schedule so far has been enough to keep them up top, for now anyway.

Here Is my updated top 25 poll heading into week ten.
