Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb entered the NFL with high expectations. The first-round draft pick was a star on the collegiate level before joining the biggest franchise in professional sports.
Lamb emerged as the top wide receiver in college football at Oklahoma, catching passes from Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. He was best known for his impressive catch radius and ridiculous after-catch ability.
It was a surprise when CeeDee Lamb fell to No. 17 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Cowboys did not hesitate to add the playmaker to an already established passing offense that featured Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup.
Through two NFL seasons, Lamb has grown into a reliable target for Dak Prescott. He went over the 1k-yard mark and reached his first Pro Bowl last season for the No. 3 seed Dallas Cowboys.
Lamb is one of the top young stars in NFL.
Wide receiver is the position with star power everywhere. From established players such as Deandre Hopkins and Davante Adams to rising wideouts like Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase, talent is everywhere out wide.
CeeDee Lamb is among the young talent catching the football across the league. According to Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus, Lamb is one of the premier players under the age of 25 in the NFL.
Lamb is ranked as the No. 9 offensive player under-25 in Sikkema's rankings. The Cowboys receiver comes in at No. 4 as far as wide receivers go. Jefferson, Chase, and D.K. Metcalf are the only three ranked higher.
There is no question that CeeDee Lamb has superstar potential. He has shown glimpses of stardom with the Cowboys through his first two years as a pro. Furthermore, Prescott trusts him to make plays, and Lamb often shows why.
The game-winning touchdown against the Patriots in an overtime thriller is certainly evidence of that.
Now, Lamb has the opportunity to be the go-to receiver in the Cowboys' passing attack. Amari Cooper is now in Cleveland, putting a bigger workload on Lamb's shoulders.
If there's anything that CeeDee Lamb has shown during the course of his career, it's that he's up for the challenge.
