The Dallas Cowboys, and more specifically defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, love safeties that fit a certain skill set.

In veterans Jayron Kearse and Donovan Wilson, and even undrafted free agent Markquese Bell, the Cowboys had a plethora of hybrid strong safeties on the roster in 2022. However, Wilson is an unrestricted free agent and may have played his final down for the Cowboys last season despite having a career year.

Therefore, Dallas could look to fill his shoes in April at the NFL draft.

The Cowboys met with Pittsburgh safety Brandon Hill at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis last week. Much like Wilson (sixth-round pick in 2019), Hill is seen as a Day 3 guy, and he has a nice foundation to work with which was highlighted by a recent video.

AtoZ Sports film room guru James Foster put out his top-10 sleepers for the upcoming draft, and Hill came in at No. 10 on the list.

"Pittsburgh's defense had a lot of really good players so if you're looking for sleepers check out their tape. But Brandon Hill is the guy that stood out the most to me," said Foster. "He's a safety prospect with really good man coverage skills.

"He can turn his hips and accelerate, unlike most safeties in this class. And he makes so many plays in run defense. He's pretty much a security blanket on the back end of your defense. He takes great angles as a tackler and he's a really hard hitter."

Hill's ability to play multiple roles and be an efficient tackler will certainly grab Quinn's attention since that's what Wilson thrives in. However, Wilson isn't the best cover guy so Hill being able to bring that aspect to the field is enticing as well.

There's another trait that Hill has and that's speed.

At the combine, he posted the fastest 40-yard dash for all safeties when a ran an official 4.43 (was originally clocked at 4.44).

Late-round sleepers get found all the time, much like the Cowboys did with Wilson. So, if Dallas hasn't snagged a safety by Day 3 of the draft, Hill is a name to keep an eye on.
