The Dallas Cowboys are counting on a number of unproven commodities at the wide receiver position entering the 2022 NFL season. That is where things stand until Michael Gallup returns to action.
CeeDee Lamb is expected to take another leap forward. The 2020 first-rounder earned Pro Bowl honors during his second season in the league. It appears that he is set to truly become the alpha in the offense during year-three.
Undrafted free agent Dennis Houston has turned heads in camp. Simi Fehoko has had solid performances. Jalen Tolbert has been up-and-down, but there is hope for the rookie to emerge.
All of that said, it wouldn't be a bad idea for the Dallas Cowboys to go out and add another pass catcher to the roster. Some intriguing names can be acquired through free agency or a potential trade.
National media outlet suggests move for Cowboys

Julio Jones was the biggest healthy name on the free agent market. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers scooped him up earlier this offseason as Chris Godwin works back from injury.
Still, there are options on the table for the Dallas Cowboys to consider.
Odell Beckham Jr. is the sexy name, but the dynamic receiver — similar to Gallup — is recovering from ACL surgery. Therefore, adding him to the roster would not give an immediate boost. Will Fuller is another target, but the speedster is injury prone.
So, the Cowboys could explore the trade market.
Enter former Baylor star wideout Denzel Mims. Bleacher Report suggests that is who the Cowboys should try to make a move for.
Mims has struggled to carve out a consistent role with the New York Jets. Still, his raw talent is evident. He is a big, physical pass catcher with big-play ability on the outside.
Denzel Mims would give the Dallas Cowboys something different — a jump-ball machine with a ton of upside. Dallas met with Mims ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft, where he was selected in the second-round, suggesting that the scouting department is very familiar with him.
Mims has yet to find his footing in the NFL, but there is still has some exciting potential to tap into. The Cowboys have a need at receiver, and the cost would likely be a late-round draft pick.
It's certainly a move worth exploring.
