Cowboys can solve problem by acquiring former first-rounder on trade block

A big issue for the Dallas Cowboys continues to be the swing tackle position. The belief was it would come down to five players, lead off by rookie Matt Waletzko.
However, with Waletzko mulling shoulder surgery, it's uncertain just how long he'll be out. This leaves Josh Ball, Isaac Alarcon, Aviante Collins and Amon Simon up for the final spot.
Ball is considered the favorite due to his upside but continues to be largely underwhelming. As are the undrafted rookie Simon and veteran Collins.
While Alarcon has played the best as a tackle, the Cowboys chose not to play him their in their preseason game against the Chargers. Leaving his position in question.
It's possible the answer might come in the form of an outside source. Specifically a former first-round lineman, playing under one of the greatest head coaches in history.
Isaiah Wynn, a former first-round pick, has been with the New England Patriots since 2018. In that time, it has been a combination of positives and negatives.
He's played in 34 career games, starting 33. Even some at guard. However, a number of injuries have marred his career to this point. Infact, he played 16 games in 2021. The most of his career.
The harsh reality is Tyron Smith will miss time at some point this season. As well as the concern's Terence Steele is showing at right tackle. Despite the fact that the Dallas Cowboys let La'el Collins go, believing Steele to be a worthwhile starter in place.
Bringing in Wynn would give the Cowboys an experienced starter, who's played at both right and left tackle. Albeit it would mean they would be adding another talented offensive tackle with injury issues.
The areas he fixes are worth considering, especially how impending and vigorous they are. Wynn's position flexibility adds value to himself and the needs he fills in Dallas.
Bill Belichick continues to move players a year early, or players of value that be more valuable elsewhere. Considering Wynn's skills and how it helps in Dallas, it may be something they need to consider.
