The Dallas Cowboys have won four consecutive games without Dak Prescott. Thanks to stellar defensive play, Dallas holds a 4-1 record and is just one game back in the NFC.
Cooper Rush has filled in fine for Prescott. He is taking care of the football and moving the chains in important situations. He is not forcing things that aren't there, and the Cowboys have the defense to complement that perfectly.
Still, there is no denying that the Dallas Cowboys are a much better football team with Dak Prescott behind center. That much is obvious, and the Cowboys are very aware of that fact — despite the current winning streak.
"We'd just like to think if you get one of the best players in the league back that things are going to get better," Stephen Jones said regarding Dak Prescott and the offense moving forward.
Prescott is not expected to play this week versus the Eagles. However, he did take a major step in returning to the field. Therefore, it seems to be just a matter of time before the Pro Bowler is back in action.
Prescott makes Cowboys better

There is no denying how important Dak Prescott is to the Dallas Cowboys. He is a franchise quarterback that elevates the entire offense. Dallas has had one of the premier offenses in football with Prescott behind center.
Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is excited to get his quarterback back. The Pro Bowl wideout caught passes from Prescott this week, and he made a bold statement about No. 4.
"(Prescott is) looking better than ever," Lamb said on Thursday.
That's a bold statement. Dak Prescott hadn't thrown a pass since the season-opener before Wednesday's practice. Yet, Lamb is confident in Prescott's abilities and believes that he is set to be back in action in the near future.
If Lamb is right in assessment, that is huge news for the Dallas Cowboys. As well as the defense is playing, an efficient offense that can finish drives with touchdowns would do wonders in making the Cowboys a legitimate championship contender. Prescott has the ability to do exactly that.
The expectation, it seems, is for Prescott to make his return next week versus the Detroit Lions. Jerry Jones stated that Prescott "has made a lot of progress" and that "all systems on go" as far as No. 4 inching towards playing.
“I don’t want to say, but he has made a lot of progress. Throwing the ball with zip and (that’s) very, very important," Jones said. "How he is healing is just great. So all systems on go there.”
Dak Prescott is closing in on making his return, and that is significant news for the Dallas Cowboys. Especially if what CeeDee Lamb has seen is any indication of what is to come.
