With the Dallas Cowboys kicking off their offseason workout program on Monday, all eyes were on how roll call was going to turn out.

Specifically, was superstar WR CeeDee Lamb going to show up?

Dallas Morning News reported Lamb didn't attend, confirming suspicions from fans and media as the team has yet to extend the All-Pro receiver ahead of a contract year.

Naturally, Lamb is using his leverage by holding out from the start of offseason workouts, which are voluntary at this stage. Lamb could also skip mandatory minicamp in June and even training camp once it kicks off in late July if negotiations don't heat up quickly.

Keep in mind, Calvin Watkins from DMN recently reported Lamb and the Cowboys "haven’t had any substantial talks about a new contract," so it really sounds like a slow process so far.

For now, CeeDee is set to only miss out on meetings and strength and conditioning as that's what happens the first two weeks of offseason training. Lost reps will get costlier once the team starts doing team drills and even more so when the pads come on in Oxnard if it gets to that point. In the meantime, he's likely going to continue to get reps in with Dak Prescott in the now famous "Dakyard."

On Monday, DeVonta Smith was signed to a three-year contract extension with an average value of $25 million per year. That's only the tip of the iceberg as Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, and others will follow.

The Cowboys aren't known for trying to get ahead of the market, though. Their mantra is "deadlines make deals" so expecting this to drag on until the summer isn't out of the realm of possibilities.

It comes down to how the Cowboys will want to balance things: Do they mind Lamb missing out on reps once training camp comes around? Or will they take care of this until the regular season is about to start?
