Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott trash talks defense after two plays in training camp.

Dallas Cowboys are in full-go mode as they kicked off padded practices in training camp under the heat of Oxnard, California.

When the pads come on, things change in practice as players and coaches shift their mentality from learning the system to simply competing and playing some football. That showed during the Cowboys' team drills when Dak Prescott earned the right to talk some smack against his defense.

Not in a bad way, mind you. After all, it's been made clear his teammates absolutely love and follow Dak's leadership. But that doesn't mean he won't compete on the playing field against the same men he tries to lead day in and day out.

During practice, a Dak Prescott scramble set the table as he escaped Micah Parsons' inside pressure to pick up a first time. In the clip taken by WFAA's Mike Leslie, second-year safety Markquese Bell (#41) seems to start talking to the Cowboys quarterback and the latter responds by braggingly signaling for a first down.

"That's what's up!" Prescott yelled as he walked back to his offense.

Hopefully, Dak got to enjoy his moment because it'd be the defense's turn right after that as Malik Hooker picked him off on what was apparently a poor throw that went way too inside into the safety.

While no takeaways can be taken away from just one practice, you have to love the competitiveness the Cowboys are showing right away. As long as trash-talking doesn't become unnecessary punching, things should be a-okay.
