Entering Week 17, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott wasn't aware his teammate CeeDee Lamb was on the brink of rewriting the franchise history books. He was actually informed by reporters ahead of the game.

"Remarkable, that's who CeeDee Lamb is," Prescott told reporters postgame. Tonight, what a great opportunity for him just to have the game that he had, understanding that he was coming in this game with records on the line, which I didn't know about until you guys informed me."

That was enough for Prescott to tell reporters that he'd make sure Lamb hit that mark. During the controversial win over the Detroit Lions, Lamb did much more than what he needed, as he racked up 227 receiving yards.

"But I told you he'd be sure that he got that, and the yards after catch, getting open after the 2.3, beating man coverage, getting in the right spots in zones, he can do it all," Prescott said.

But with Lamb, it's about much more than skill. You hear it in his voice when a game doesn't go his way. He's a vintage WR1 who wants the ball and won't be shy about it.

And on top of that desire is a relentless drive to get better, says his quarterback.

"He's continuing to get better, wants to get better, hungry to get better, hungry for the ball," Prescott explained. "Has one of the hungriest mindsets that I've been around in this game of football, and it's fun. Obviously, with a similar mindset when the ball is in your hands, I can definitely understand and relate. So, it makes it easy, makes my job easy, and he's special."

Allow me to remind you of a little something: This is Lamb's fourth year in the NFL. It's also his third 1,000-yard season and his first 10-touchdown campaign. He's already broken Michael Irvin's record for single-season catches and yards.

Prescott made Lamb's night even better, one that not even a goal-line fumble was able to ruin, with an indirect promise about his future that will fire up fans.

"He's really just getting going, and I can tell you, as long as I'm here, he'll probably stack these records each and every year, to be honest with you," the Cowboys quarterback concluded. "So, this is only the beginning."
