Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is awaiting who the franchise will take in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft. There's a chance that the Cowboys add another weapon for him early on during draft weekend.
In the meantime, Prescott was back on campus at his alma mater: Mississippi State. Prescott rewrote the history book with the Bulldogs before becoming the face of the Dallas Cowboys.
He was a part of more history this weekend. Mississippi State hosted heated rival Ole Miss for a three-game baseball series. Saturday featured the largest on-campus crowd for a college baseball game in the history of the sport.
More than 16,000 fans packed Dudy Noble Stadium to watch Mississippi State defeat Ole Miss on a walk-off hit. In total, over 40,000 people, including the quarterback of America's Team, were inside the ballpark at one point or another during the three-game series.
Of course, Prescott was loving every bit of it. And he made sure to be wearing a "Dallas" hat with the gray Bulldogs' baseball uniform. ESPN gave him some face time as MSU pulled off the victory.
Prescott is regarded as one of the best to play at Mississippi State. He set 38 school records with the maroon and white. There is a big emotional connection between he and the university. The school even named their new live mascot after the QB.
Aside from cheering on the Bulldogs, Prescott has also been putting in work this offseason. He was recently seen training with wide receiver Jalen Tolbert as the two develop their connection ahead of next season.
The Dallas Cowboys are less than two weeks away from making their first-round draft selection. It certainly wouldn't be a bad idea to add another offensive weapon for Prescott to get the ball to.
