Dak Prescott is preparing for another season as the franchise quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. Already this offseason, the Cowboys have added another weapon for Prescott to work with.

Dallas traded for veteran pass catcher Brandin Cooks to bolster the wide receivers corps ahead of next season. His addition, combined with another offseason for Michael Gallup to recover, has things trending up alongside CeeDee Lamb.

But there's still work to be done. The Cowboys could very well draft a wideout early in the 2023 NFL Draft. And Prescott is doing his homework by watching tape of the potential top targets for Dallas.

The Cowboys have Prescott putting his general manager hat on ahead of the upcoming draft. Dallas sent film of a couple receivers that the team has its eye on for Prescott's opinion.

"I'm excited for it," Prescott said of the NFL Draft. "Love what we got on our team right now, but I know that we need some of these young guys that we're going to go get. I'm excited to see what the organization does."

Dallas has met with a handful of wide receivers leading up to the draft. Rockwall native Jaxon Smith-Njigba and TCU product Quentin Johnston are among the headliners of that group. Both are projected first-round picks.

Prescott isn't sure who the Cowboys will select in the draft. However, he will likely reach out to a few of the team's targets. It's clear that the front office and coaching staff value his input – and for good reason.

“Maybe we take one, maybe we don’t,” Prescott said regarding drafting another offensive weapon. “It does feel good to have input and know it’s listened to.”

Dak Prescott is playing an active role in the team's strategy for the 2023 NFL Draft. It makes sense for the Dallas Cowboys to make sure that their franchise quarterback feels valued.

Plus, it wouldn't be a bad idea to add a promising receiver to the mix, anyways.
