The Dallas Cowboys did what fans were pleading for over the past few months. The Cowboys went out and got a receiver. They traded for former Houston Texans WR Brandin Cooks.

Cooks has been a bit of a journeyman in his career, but he has remained productive at every stop.

Now, he will be the clear WR2 for a Cowboy offense that showed flashes of elite play last season.

Dallas needs more consistency this year, and Cooks can help provide that alongside Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Gallup.

Last season, Cooks had an impressive Pro Football Focus grade of 72.3.

This advanced stat of the week is powered by Boston Scientific!

For comparison, Michael Gallup's grade was a 62.8 last season. That is one factor that proves that Dallas just added their second-best WR behind CeeDee Lamb.

Cooks also provides a downfield aspect to the offense that they need. Dak Prescott has been successful downfield outside the numbers, and Cooks is a consistent force there.

Gallup has showed glimpses of that talent, but there have been too many inconsistencies at the catch point and in his route running.

The trio of Cooks, Lamb, and Gallup should excite fans of the Cowboys going forward.
