The Dallas Cowboys continue to meet and visit with some of the top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft. Dallas is developing a game plan for the draft and learning more about each potential target helps paint a clearer picture.

Tennessee offensive tackle Darnell Wright is the latest name that has been added to the top-30 visits for the Cowboys. Wright is considered to be among the best linemen in this year's class. It's no secret that the Cowboys like to bolster that position in the first-round.

In fact, the meeting with Wright suggests that the Cowboys could be leaning on a successful strategy. Which would be converting a talented tackle on the collegiate level to an interior player in the NFL.

Dallas has built an impressive track record on moving tackles to guard in the NFL. Look no further than last year's first-round pick: Tyler Smith. Smith was drafted to play guard and played well at that position before being forced to fill in for Tyron Smith at tackle.

Zack Martin and Connor McGovern are two more examples that made the move inside. Perhaps that is where the Cowboys see Wright on the next level, should he be the selection.

Wright is viewed as a first-round prospect and could even be taken as highly as the top-15. He can start right away on the right side of the line for a team looking for immediate help at tackle.

Should he slide, though, the Cowboys could pounce on adding the Tennessee product to their line of scrimmage. Especially with McGovern off the Bills, Dallas could upgrade the interior of the line.

NFL Draft analyst evaluates Wright as the No. 24 overall prospect in the class. He notes that some teams actually have Wright as a guard on their draft boards.

"He is a plug-and-play right tackle, and some teams have him on their draft board as a starting guard," Brugler wrote in his draft guide.

The strategy has worked in a big way before, and Wright could be the one to continue the trend.
