Trevon Diggs is one of if not the biggest talking points when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. Surprisingly, no matter how well he plays, there still seems to be this narrative that he's a product of luck more so than skill.
Despite the constant negative chatter, Diggs keeps putting his name in elite company when it comes to the cornerback position. In Week 7 against the Detroit Lions, Diggs snagged his third interception of the season and his 17th in 35 career games, making him the fastest to reach that mark in the last 40 years.
Diggs was excellent in coverage for the Cowboys against the Lions. According to Pro Football Focus, Diggs only allowed one reception for six yards in 32 coverage snaps. This was a continuation of his top-level coverage skills as he held Ja'Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals, who is considered a top-five receiver, to just two receptions for 14 yards in Week 2. Also, in Week 4 against the Washington Commanders, Diggs allowed just one reception and recorded an interception.
Diggs is putting together another All-Pro type of season for the Cowboys. His three interceptions are tied for second in the NFL and his 11 passes defended are also second. Not to mention, Diggs has stepped up his game as a tackler, which was on full display against the Bengals when he made back-to-back tackles late in the fourth quarter to stall the Bengals' final attempt to win the game.
The uneducated onlookers keep doubting him, and Diggs keeps playing elite ball, which means all smiles in Big D.
