Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown was carted off the sideline into the locker room during the first quarter of the team's preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.

After making an impressive tackle exploding to the flat, the third-round rookie grabbed his left knee and walked to the sideline under his own power.

The broadcast showed him being carted off the sideline moments after the play, however. He was ruled out of the game with a knee injury, per Nick Eatman.

Overshown has been one of the biggest winners of training camp (and the Cowboys' preseason opener). Depending on the severity of his injury, it could be a serious blow to the defense and special teams.

You just hate to see a rapidly-ascending rookie like Overshown hit an injury bump in a preseason showing. For now, Cowboys fans will have to patiently wait for any sort of update on the rookie's health.

Behind the projected starters, Leighton Vander Esch and Damone Clark, the Cowboys have very few options at linebacker. Jabril Cox, Devin Harper, and Malik Jefferson will surely try to make the most out of the opportunity,
