In the NFL, sometimes the taste of victory can fade just moments after the game clock hits zero. The Dallas Cowboys just emphatically beat the Los Angeles Rams in a 43-20 Week 8 beatdown.

Yet, with the Philadelphia Eagles on deck, it's hard to stay focused on the win.

"Let's soak this (win) up," Jerry Jones told reporters after the game when asked about the Philadelphia Eagles. "I don't want to do anything to poke the bear."

Dak Prescott, who passed for 304 yards and four touchdowns (two to CeeDee Lamb) in what was a masterful display of quarterback play, is taking a different approach to Jones'.

He's ready for the divisional clash. When asked if the team learned anything from the approach ahead of the San Francisco 49ers' game, when Dak and others openly talked about it as more than just a game, Prescott didn't hesitate to deliver a quote that will fire up Cowboys fans ahead of the much-anticipated Week 8 showdown.

"Pour honey on me, I always say that," he said with a wide smile. "You see me and a bear in a fight, pour honey on me."

Although it's arguably the weirdest quote ever to come out of Prescott's mouth, context makes it worthy of being considered a rallying cry. The Cowboys quarterback understands what a big game is, and not being worried about how he and the team talk about it is exactly what you want out of a football team.

They're worried about playing football, not about what the media and fans say if it doesn't go their way at the end of it all.

"(Jerry) can poke it," Dak added. "It's part of it, it's part of the National Football League. Whether we talk about it or not, we know what's ahead of us. Great opponent, excited for it."

Prescott is 8-3 against the Eagles in his career, including a 3-0 record in his last three. Right now, he's playing some of his best football. The NFC East showdown can't get here soon enough.
