The Dallas Cowboys will take on the Philadelphia Eagles at AT&T Stadium in Week 14 in a must-watch (and must-win) NFC East clash.
What is better than a late-season Cowboys-Eagles showdown on Sunday Night Football when both teams are legit Super Bowl contenders? Not much.
Even better, both squads will enter the game relatively healthy, per the injury reports. Even Mike McCarthy is set to coach the ballgame after receiving surgery earlier in the week.
Perhaps no injury update is as important as one on the Eagles' side, however: TE Dallas Goedert is set to return after suffering an injury in Week 9 against this very Cowboys team.
Goedert was a full participant all week and carries no game designation ahead of the pivotal game. Cowboys fans shouldn't overlook this as Goedert's absence is one of the big reasons why the Eagles have been inconsistent on offense as of late.
Consider this: Even after missing three games, Goedert is third on the team in receptions with 38 for 410 yards and two touchdowns. His role in Philadelphia is huge as he has a higher success rate (61.5%) when targeted than A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith do, per Pro Football Reference.
Jayron Kearse is a huge part of the Cowboys defense when it comes to defending tight ends but back in November, Goedert caught three passes for 50 yards and two first downs against three other defenders per PFF, which means it'll take a team effort to slow him down.
Cowboys Injury Report for Week 14 vs Eagles:
The Cowboys welcome back tight end Peyton Hendershot after missing most of the season up until now. Rico Dowdle is ready to go after a "full" practice on Friday. Nobody else carries a game designation other than Matt Waletzko, who's out but he's designation to return from IR remains open.
