The Dallas Cowboys fell to the Green Bay Packers in less-than-ideal fashion last Sunday. Dallas seemingly had the game in the bag before Aaron Rodgers did Aaron Rodgers things at Lambeau Field.
Naturally, there is some concern surrounding the Cowboys following the defeat. The performance sounded the alarms in regards to whether this team can win in the big moments. It didn't help that the defense was gashed throughout all four quarters and overtime.
Still, there is something positive to take away from the Cowboys' performance. Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb displayed what they can do together when the duo is clicking. The Packers really struggled to slow down that facet of the Cowboys' passing attack once Prescott got into a groove.
Aside from a couple of blunders in route-running, Prescott and Lamb torched Jaire Alexander and the Packers secondary for much of the game. The two connected 11 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns — good for more than 13 yards per completion.
Cowboys' connection shows promise
Lamb flashed the alpha receiver talent that he entered the league with when Dallas drafted him in the first-round. Prescott continued to go his way, even after the miscommunication on the interception just before halftime. That shows not only the trust between the two, but it also shows the connection is growing.
Assuming that connection continues to grow, the Cowboys should have the ability to make a lot of noise moving forward. We see all across the league of receivers making big impacts, and Lamb is showing that he can do exactly that, too.
The Dallas Cowboys have a lot to play for moving forward. Especially with the Philadelphia Eagles losing on Monday night. That opens the door a bit more in the NFC East race.
Prescott and Lamb showed us that they have what it takes to take over a game in a hostile environment. Even if it didn't result in a win. Dallas needs more of that down the stretch and into the postseason.
