Mike McCarthy made some interesting comments as the Dallas Cowboys prepare to take on the Minnesota Vikings. Comments that should excite the Cowboys fan base ahead of a playoff-like atmosphere in the NFC.

The Cowboys' head coach was asked about his quarterback, Dak Prescott. Prescott had a solid outing overall against the Green Bay Packers. He threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns. However, he did also throw a pair of interceptions in the overtime loss.

As expected, Prescott has been the center of criticism this week. But, McCarthy made sure to come to strong defense of No. 4. He voiced his confidence in Prescott as Dallas looks to make a run into the postseason.

“I see him every day. I think his best days are ahead," McCarthy said this week. "I’m excited to work with him every day and what he brings to the table. He’s our quarterback."

Dak Prescott is the established franchise quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. He has largely shown throughout his career that he is one of the 10 best at the position across the league. McCarthy sees things pretty similarily.

"I get the evaluation we have to go through, but I have zero concerns for him," said McCarthy.

Furthermore, Prescott himself is confident that the team will get better from the mistakes that happened at Lambeau Field. It doesn't sound like Prescott will think twice about making the plays that are there for the Cowboys.

"I believe in my arm and I believe in those guys to go make those plays. It's just about being on the same page," Prescott said about his two interceptions last Sunday. "If those looks come up again, I'm going to throw the ball again and I guarantee there's a different result."

The Dallas Cowboys need Dak Prescott to be playing at a high level if there is any chance that the team can compete in a wide open NFC. Mike McCarthy voiced strong belief in Prescott, and that should have Cowboys fans fired up.
