When the Dallas Cowboys make their second round, one of the best players in their history will take the podium.
Pro Football Hall of Famer Drew Pearson, who made the Cowboys' second-round selection in 2017 (Chidobe Awuzie), in of all places Philadelphia, will announce the 58th pick of this year's draft.
Pearson will join other greats players like Devin Hester (Bears), Torry Holt (Rams), A.J. Green (Bengals), Leroy Butler (Packers), and Fred Taylor (Jaguars) that will also make second-round announcements for their former teams.
The Cowboys' defensive unit got a lot stronger, especially against the run, in round one as Dan Quinn got an anchor on the interior in Michigan's Mazi Smith. With the second and third-round picks being selected on Friday, it's a strong chase that offensive line and tight end will be the way Dallas goes, and don't rule out cornerback, running back, or receiver either.
Speaking of 2017, Pearson's appearance was legendary. Nobody will ever forget how he made it known that he was representing the five-time Super Bowl champion Cowboys, which he proudly raised his voice to say as Eagles fans booed relentlessly.
Who knows what this year will bring from Pearson, but the echoes of the past will be in the air for sure.
