To add insult to injury to the Dallas Cowboys' embarrassing loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, the team is now worried about the health of a few more players who were banged up during the game.
Among those who missed at least some playing time due to an injury were RG Zack Martin, S Donovan Wilson, and LB Damone Clark. Early in the game, Micah Parsons was briefly shaken up, as well.
As a tiny consolation price, Cowboys fans got some positive news regarding Martin's status from head coach Mike McCarthy. After what was reported as a "quad" injury following a big shot to the knee, Martin was ruled out in the second half of the game, leaving some concern about his near future.
Apparently, however, the All-Pro offensive lineman is "ok" and the staff is less concerned than they were initially.
Although the team has yet to provide any sort of tangible timetable for Martin, that's about as positive of an update as Cowboys fans can hope for for somebody as important as No. 70.
Martin added he hopes to play next Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, per Nick Harris from DallasCowboys.com.
Moments before officially being ruled out, Martin was on the sidelines with a wrap on his injured thigh. One can wonder if the Cowboys would've considered playing him had the game been closer.
For now, all there's left to do is wait. The Cowboys were handed a humbling loss in Buffalo, once again proving they have a lot to prove on the road, an area they'll need to significantly improve on if they want to be considered serious Super Bowl contenders as they're more likely than not to be a Wild Card team.
Having Martin feels like a must moving forward.
