Although not many Dallas Cowboys fans enjoy giving owner and general manager Jerry Jones credit, he made a great point about the team heading into the regular season finale.
As usual, Jones joined 105.3 The Fan's Shan & RJto discuss the Cowboys. When host Shan Shariff tossed an easy but important question his way, Jerry hit it out of the park.
The question was what was the biggest strength the Cowboys had that could lead to a deep playoff run?
"I'd put Dak (Prescott) right at the top of the list," Jones told 105.3 The Fan earlier in the week."Dak Prescott's quarterbacking, that's a real strength."
Jones followed that comment with praise for the Cowboys' pass protection and skill-positon players.
Although it's certainly not groundbreaking, Jones nailed it when discussing the reason why Cowboys Nation should be hopeful for a deep run in the postseason. And while it shouldn't be a debate, social media and some hot-take-based national TV shows are filled with unfair criticism for Dak Prescott.
While many focus on the interceptions, many fail to consider that many of those haven't been his fault in the first place. And while some are certainly on #4, it's impossible to ignore Dak's having his most-aggressive season as a passer yet.
That's led to one of the highest-scoring offenses in the NFL (second). It's one of the most efficient ones, too, even counting the interceptions. It's easy to boil it down to a handful of snaps and try to play Monday Morning Quarterback by criticizing the picks.
But the truth is the Cowboys quarterback is having one of the best seasons at the position in the NFL this season.
He also seems to have fully clicked with CeeDee Lamb, who's had three consecutive 10-catch, 100-yard games. There are many reasons to be concerned about the Cowboys in the playoffs, especially if they stay at the 5th seed and have to play road warriors.
But Dak Prescott is definitely at the top of the list of reasons to be hopeful. Don't doubt Jerry on that one.
