The Dallas Cowboys are set to kick off against the New York Jets at 3:25 central time in Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season.

The Cowboys and Cowboys Nation alike are riding high after their demolition of the New York Giants in Week 1 in a game that featured just about everything including a blocked field goal that would be returned for a touchdown (something that hadn't been done in over 15 years in franchise history).

However there was one glaring omission from the game, and it came from the quarterback himself, Dak Prescott. Let's dive into the 3 things to watch in today's game versus the Jets.

Dak Prescott has yet to throw or rush for a touchdown in the 2023 NFL season.

That's right the Cowboys' three offensive touchdowns came on the ground. Two of them were from Tony Pollard and one was from KaVontae Turpin. All the other points were scored by special teams and defense.

Surely this stat won't hold up through two weeks, regardless it may come as a shock that Dak Prescott did not throw or rush for a touchdown in week one. It will be refreshing to see him get his first.

The next thing to watch out for is the Cowboys defense as a whole.

The Cowboys defense currently sits at a +3 turnover differential, which is tied for second in the NFL (the only team with a higher differential is the Philadelphia Eagles). With Aaron Rodgers being out with a season-ending injury, former second-overall pick Zach Wilson is now starting. Wilson looked better in week one of 2023 than he did for most of 2022, but that doesn't tell us everything.

I expect Dan Quinn to be dialing up the pressure and disguising coverages as much as possible to make Wilson's life hell. I am also calling my shot that Trevon Diggs records his first interception of the season.

The last thing I'm looking for is can the Cowboys kicker go perfect on the day?

Last week the Dallas Cowboys felt a similar feeling that they've felt for quite some time. That feeling is uneasiness when the kicker steps on the field. First-year kicker Brandon Aubrey would step onto the field for a point after attempt after the sudden change in a Cowboys score.

Ultimately he would miss. He would bounce back and make everything, even making another point after attempt after a similar change of possession occurred; so hope is not lost.

It sure would go a long way with Cowboys Nation to see their kicker make everything on the day. It would not only build Aubrey's confidence in himself, but it would be a start to getting the fans behind him and not having them hold their breath every time he steps onto the field.
