The Dallas Cowboys could go in multiple directions during the first two days of the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft. While the team traded for veteran Brandin Cooks, Dallas could very well add another receiver or two to the roster.

Ole Miss wideout Jonathan Mingo is one player that has seen his stock steadily rise during the pre-draft process. So much so that he will likely be drafted in the first two rounds. And the Cowboys are among the teams expressing interest.

Mingo is meeting with the Cowboys for a top-30 visit, which is certainly notable. ESPN NFL Draft insider Matt Miller believes that the fit makes sense for both parties.

Mingo became a big-play threat while at Ole Miss under head coach Lane Kiffin. He is a physical receiver with an impressive build. Some NFL scouts see a resemblance of former Ole Miss pass catcher AJ Brown.

"The buzz started at the Senior Bowl, when scouts and coaches were talking about Mingo's build looking like A.J. Brown's," wrote Miller. "At 6-2 and 220 pounds, he does resemble Brown or Alshon Jeffery when watching him in person. And like those big-bodied wideouts, Mingo has the power to box out defenders and is a menace on breaking routes, helping him to 16.9 yards per catch last season."

Furthermore, Mingo tested well at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier in the draft process. That included him running a 4.46 in the 40-yard dash. Miller lists the Cowboys as one of the teams make sense for Mingo in round two.

"He ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash at the combine and elevated his status to Round 2 target," Miller wrote. "Teams such as the Dallas Cowboys, Bills and Chiefs all make sense for him at the end of the second round."

Wide receiver is not as big of a need after the trade for Cooks. However, it's never a bad idea to load up at that position. The Cowboys are doing their homework at pass catcher, and Mingo is certainly a name to know.
